Hello everybody. This is my first post and it is a real pleasure to virtually meet you all. Born and UK here. Over the last two years I've studied the gear and the whole thi g about hammock camping; from lots of youtube videos, blogs and reviews. Picked out my gear and iver time have put a fair packload together. Would love to do a snow camp but I literally know nobody who would entertain that kind od madness (even if irbus like waiting for godot for snow here in the West if England). So a big HI to all my fellow countrymen who might be here.

It is actually Shugs fault that I got so inspired. . But where on Earth are all the rest of the British hammockers?

Shug has a lot to answer for lol.
There are a lot of hangers on the uk bushcraft forums I think but there is much more info and resources on hf.

Hello from the Peak District. Spent my first night in a hammock on the summer solstice around the 9 Ladies in Birchover. I have been hooked ever since but I have always loved the outdoors.
As a roofer, I spend a lot of time looking at roofs. As a hammocker, I spend a lot more time looking at trees
"Ordinary Folk" think I am crazy lol, I suppose I must be because I have a VW Camper and when ever possible I still prefer hang. Its the ordinary folk that leave their mess behind.

Another in Yorkshire (Leeds way). Plenty of spots to hang if you're in late and out early (mostly bikepacking) and not averse to a bit of "cheeky".

I'm in Sheffield here, plenty of woodland in the Derbyshire dales just next door, North Lees, Hope, Wyming Brook, Yarncliffe Quarry and the hangers paradise, Bole Hill Quarry are all spots I know.

It's not wilderness, but it's only 15 minutes away and good for overnighters. Still very much a beginner at hammocking, but sold on the concept, and I keep oversleeping even in the snow, so I must be doing something right.

Always keen to share intel on good hanging opportunities in and around South Yorks/Derbs.

Share grid refs? Anyone hung out at Slippery Stones at all, looking at a couple of nights around Ladybower reservoir?
