    The making of a bridgeskin

Maybe some of you remember my bridgeskin and bridgeskin II. Now I am making pair of bridgeskins. I thought it would be fun to post pictures as they are being made. It is going painfully slow and this will hopefully motivate me. I put a lot of planning in on this and it will have a removable suspension, removable and adjustable shoulder straps, and the spreader bars will become the frame.

It is made from dyneema material and should be pretty much indestructable. The poles shown in the pockets are going to land on a hipbelt so much of the weight is transferred (hopefully) to the hips.

    Dutch,
Thanks for keeping us updated. Now I know how you get your seams so straight - you use material with built in graph squares printed on it! And the ripstop threads are at 45 degrees so you have just about all angles covered.

I like the dual use of the poles. Can't wait to see the finished project.

I was intrigued with both the bridgeskin I and II projects. Looking forward to see what modifications you make this time around. Thanks for sharing!

COOL BEANS! Put me down for 2. But seriously, put me down for 3.

Looks like a really great idea and it would definitely solve some space issues, especially if the pack had a double use supporting comfort pad/insulating pad to get a little less bottom insulation needed.
oldgringo's reply to my worrying about owning extra hammocks:

How many pairs of underwear do you own? Do you refer to them as "extras", simply because you're not wearing all of them as we speak?

I dunno, a coupla shots of some nicely seamed Dyneema...I'll believe it when I see it.

and do you really then we put a man on the moon? That moonscape looks an awful lot like Arizona shot in black-and-white

I would soooo love to have a Bridge Skin. Like you Dutch, they are totally awesome.
