I'm planning a paddling trip to the Everglades this winter and would love to hang. Anyone have any experience in this area? I have never tried to hang on a manmade post. I currently use tree huggers/whoopie sling suspension.
Thanks,
leigh

Hey Leigh. I hung on a chickee in the winter. Didn`t have any trouble with 1 inch straps. You can use the posts that hold up the roof just like a tree. This was my 5th year in the everglades with a folbot group. 2011 will be folbots 10th year in the glades. You can check out there website for more info on the everglades. When you stay in the ENP you need a hammock stand nothing is aloud tied to any trees. I can`t wait to get back to this amazing place. Hope you have as great a time as I have had.
