experimented with the sag last night

One of the reasons I picked DD for my newest hammock was the fact they recommend a "tight" hang with their hammocks.

I've suffered a couple nasty back injuries over the years, and have disc degeration in my lower spine. I find very little to no sag when the hammock is hung (it will sag some when I lay in it) is the most comfortable for me. I usually end up on my side in a "semi-fetal" position.

I hung the Frontline with some sag last night and put my 3/16" CCF pad between the bottom layers. Within minutes of climbing in I knew that system wouldn't work! The pad was getting "bunched up" and my back was screaming for relief.

Got up, tightened the suspension, smoothed out the pad, and slept well the rest of the night!

Thinking of going back to a thicker pad. (my old 1/2" CCF pad is much more comfortable, but a bit narrow @ 20")
I might try to find a 3/4 length CCF pad that's 24" wide.

I like the DD better than any other hammock I've tried, but the bug net zipper is a bit of a struggle to get in through, and get it closed once inside. My old back doesn't flex as well as it did 30 years ago, and my feet can be hard to reach.
I tied the elastic cords on the net to my tarp ridge line last night, and stretched it a bit tighter (higher) this time, and it helped a lot with getting in and getting it zipped closed again.

Can you tie a small line on the zipper pull on your foot end? If you can just make sure the line is pulled up by your hands when you get in and then just reel it in. Bad backs are the pits.

So obvious a solution I completely overlooked it.

Me and a buddy were saying the same thing when we were camping over the weekend, just watch you don't snag the zip in the mozzie net, lol

I might try to find a 3/4 length CCF pad that's 24" wide.

Walmart has 24" egg crate CCF pads and 28" textured CCF pads.
