    Intense Hammocking

I stumbled across this and thought it was pretty awesome. These guys must have 100% trust in their hammocks.

That's awesome...thanks for posting. It looks like the Bat Hammock.

Thats some hard core hammocking, thanks for posting.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

Hanging bivvy's have been around for many years, as you can see, and they are still commonly used on lots of big walls. They are pretty popular on the old school yosemite aid routes, since they are a lot lighter to bring up in your haul bag, compared to the framed bivvy shelves.

That said, most climbers remain in their harnesses and tied in, even when they bivvy, for obvious reasons.

You mean 100% trust in your anchors.

I'm guessing that I'd never want to unclip from my harness. Makes for some interesting midnight calls. (especially for the gals)

    Thanks for the historical article.

Ask a big wall climber about building (and using) a PVC "poop tube" sometime

I heard a great story once, about trying to empty one at an RV dump site and being surprised by some horrified RV'ers. I couldn't possibly do it justice.

Kayakers on busy waters or fragile use poop tubes, too...keeps the river clean. It's like packing it out on the trail...I might just pick a different trip. But...if I could do big walls like the ones in the pic I might be convinced to use a poop tube.
