Nice setup you have there How do you like the Traveler? I'm thinking about purchasing one for winter.
Welcome to the addiction Thanks for sharing the video
If you move the straps further up the tree it will take some of the pressure off the ridgeline. You will not have to pull the straps as tight and can end up the same distance from the ground without the stress to ridgeline.
Also try the hammock without the air pad and lay a little more asym and see what you think. A thin ccf pad may feel better than the air pad when the temps drop.
Good Hangin'
Nice set up. Looks like you just need a bit more time to play with it and tweek it a bit and you are all set. I dont have an air pad so I use a ccf pad and that works well. Ill get or make an underquilt one of these days. Have fun playing with your new toy.

Nice looking setup. Looks like you are off to a good start. I use a CCF pad and an underquilt when it gets cool out but be aware that the pad can cause you to sweat even though the temps might pretty low. I thought I recognized the accent. I am from Penn Hills originally and my wife is from Plum. Enjoy!!! If it wasn't for hammocks I would not be camping anymore.
When it goes over their heads, it really doesn't matter how high it is.
Thanks everyone probably be 2 weeks till an overnight as long as the skeeters leave me alone
