    Houston Hurricane Hangers

The best weather may be November through March, but I'd be open for some group hangs this Summer. The Sam Houston National Forest at Double Lake, about 50 miles North of Houston is an area I know well. There are others.

In addition to discussing it here, email me at

There's a bunch of texas hangers thinking about Goose Island near Rockport around the oysterfest there (feb). I've scouted out the live oaks there and we could have quite a few hammocks up and about ....

    Rockport

Sounds nice. The windswept oaks around Rockport and Fulton Beach are very sacred to the locals. I used to fish down there a lot in the 70s. Can you find out if there are weird rules in place for the island?

Weird? not that I know of. and in respect to hanging, the park rangers didn't have any problems with it, at least 4 of them didn't at all seemed to be fazed at all.

Count me in for the Oyster Hang

Sounds great! Personally all I need is car camping since I've gotten too lame to hike around much. Thanks!
