Looks good Rock. Very da Vinciesque.
My knife is so sharp it cut the sixth finger off my right hand! On the plus side, Inigo Montoya no longer hunts me.
I get ideas while at work and find something to doodle on. I've taken to keeping a mechanical pencil and steel ruler at work so I can flesh them out at break. I've also sketched out a cuben diamond tarp using 3 yards of material, but decided making 2 tarps just so I could have a 2.7oz option and a 4.7oz option was too much of a gram weenie thing even for me.
I found that using a cutting wheel on one of the cutting mats to be the most accurate way for me to cut cuben. Sissors worked ok but nearly impossible if trying to trim a little.
I still haven't got my tie outs done on my tarp, but I am planning to use amsteel or
Lashit.
My tape and primer came in last night, the cuben arrived this afternoon. I weighed the stuff uncut and it comes out to be 14gr/yd^2 without trimming off the edges, so that is about right with the CT1K.08.
I've got to work tomorrow, this weekend is trail maintenance, and next week is Heck week at work, so it may be next weekend before I get working.
OK, got off work early today and got working on the tarp. I just finished it and it came in at 125 grams, about 8 grams less than I expected. It's put away for now so the "tape" can set. I'm resisting the urge to set it up and play with it.
I hope to give it an inaugural trip this weekend during trail maintenance. It looks like we will get some thunder showers this weekend, so it should get broke in right.
Cant wait to see pictures. How did your tie outs workout for you?
They look solid. Weather this weekend will tell though.
Glad you found time for it so soon. Hope the test goes well. I'm looking forward to photos of those tie-outs, too. You are a pathfinder.
