I was wondering how Gorilla Glue might do.

I used it to repair my POE Ether 6 insulated mattress. Works GREAT. Looks kind of ugly if it's not covered, but no big deal. And besides, you'll be covering it. Warning: it increases in size about 3x. A little goes a long way!

I know that I don't even have to tell you this, but... Read the directions. This isn't a normal glue.

Some of that stuff is exothermic (not sure about GG), and I am pretty sure that GG expands as well, 2 things to keep in mind. I doubt it gets hot enough to really damage the cuben, but if it causes little holes, then it defeats the purpose.

    Definitely test it first!

I have not read the entire thread. Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but this thread may be of interest to the cuben folk.

Fantastic catch, Griffins. I just read the entire thread. It answers many questions about bonding cuben. I'm going to cite your find in the thread where my test results are posted.

I ran across the thread the other day.

Although I have no cuben gear, the nerd in me loves reading these types of threads. The good part is there seems to be a good bit of industry experience in that thread (from tensile testing, sail making, and bonding).

I'd keep an eye out too, as the sailing guy (in that thread) mentioned he was going to make a thread soon detailing how they construct cuben sails. Might be worth a read.

Looks like tomorrow night we may get some thunderstorms. I'm thinking about sleeping out there to give the new tarp a bath...

Thanks for the thread from BPL. I'm still reading and digesting.
