Looking good!!! What sector will this be? (ala Shug)
Seems he always says at the end of a segment, "All secure in sector 7 " or what ever.
Ohhhh. Well I am old school Army, so this is just part of my general AOR, I wouldn't assign this a sector. We are calling it the "Hammock Lab" though. So now I have a new area to play with hammock ideas.

Yes, that is correct. I understand that you want 1/3 under the ground, but the plan has you using a 1' base of cement under the pole connected by rebar, so if you add 1' to the 8' pole (the only length I could find) I figured that made the structure 9', so 3' (one foot cement base plus pole) below the ground was within range.
When I augured out the holes I hit rock and/or water at 24" down, probably from living so close to a creek in the Appalachians. Instead of using 1' rebar, I used 2' rebar and hammered it into the rock layer below the cement base and ensured I had at least 5" above the base to connect to the second layer. I laid the foundations on one day and gave them some time to set, then put the posts in and finished the cement jobs on the second day. I'll give them about a week to cure and hope that works. The ground here lately is super saturated from days and days of rain.
Auger
Auger almost to the bottom. That bit is 12" x 36" if I remember correctly.
