Hi, I searched but couldnt find anything on this. I need to chose the "right" (i there is such a thing) thread for making a tarp in terms of type and thickness. Any ideas anyone?

100% polyester thread is best, and a high quality one like Guterman is a good choice.

The most important thing is to make sure it is polyester. Nylon would work too but polyester is ideal.

Some stores like wally world sells poly thread that is labeled as "Outdoor thread" and is tough. I bought Gutterman and I bought this wally stuff and they seem very comparable.
