Want Used Sil Tarp for WBBB

Looking to buy a used tarp for a friend.

I roped a friend of mine into the hammocking community and got him to buy Double Layer 1.7oz WBBB. He just got it in the mail a few days ago and he loves it.

    Some Info:
    • I was thinking sil-nylon.
    • He hopes to do some backpacking with me.
    • I wouldn't call him a gram weenie.
    • He won't be camping in the winter, doesn't need a huge tarp.
    • Ideal price range $50 to $80 but open to all offers.

What is the min length along the tarp ridge line you would recommend?

What would you guys recommend for him?
    JRB 8x8? MacCat Deluxe? Standard?

    Thanks a bunch.

well for the price range you are looking at your lmited to what you can get
i think the maccat deluxe, and standard are out of the question even used they almost go for full price .......

the JRB 8x8 would be close the the price you are willing to spend and is a very nice tarp but i'm not sure it would cover the footbox very good due to the cut of the tarp....
could also look into a equinox tarp ...there around that price range and are very good tarps as well

I know in a tread i have going in this section someone had a speer winter tarp for $75+shipping...there a really nice tarp
it's a winter tarp but you can use it in the summer ...and would be a good all around tarp...

i would say spend the extra few $$ and get a Maccat deluxe...you can't go wrong
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
