leave it in the skins the whole time..... its creased when you pull it out but no biggie....

if you have an after market tarp you might wanna go up to size 4 snake skins....

the standard tarp and explorer delux asym are pretty tight in the skins to be honest....

ive got a size 3 set that someone sent me by mistake... i just use them to put the hammock in when im cooking so that i can sit under the tarp...

I often leave mine in as well. It has to be dry or you'll get some mildew and stuff, but if it's dry then there's no problem.

    Same as Jeff!!
I go a little extra and I wipe my tarp down (at home) while it's strung it up in the house to dry, then back into the skins until the next needed use! I'm not too sure but I seem to remember the last time I visited the HH site that he is only selling the #4 skins now, but those will work with most after market tarps (12ft x 11ft or smaller will fit) anything larger than that might be a squeeze but can be done!

Haha - yeah, my garage looks like a tornado when I get back from a trip...clothes, tarps and quilts for 3-4 people hanging all over the place.

What do you do with a wet tarp while you're still out on the trail? I'd imagine that you want to store it separate from the dry hammock.

    Hmmm this is interesting.
You have the ONE snakeskin swallow BOTH sets....
    Hammock in skin
    tarp naked

I guess you have the tarp attached to the hammock?
But if so How did you skin up the hammock????

    Confused....

I just finished filming a video about it, will put it up soon!

I use size 3 for my hammock, size 4 for the tarp and already rolled hammock. Size four snake skins outside prussik knots I.e between tree and tarp, size three inside prussik knots I.e between tarp and hammock.

    Does that make sense?

i use a mesh bag for my tarp and store on outside of pack at all times. it can get funky after a number of damp days

i thought you weren't suppose to store down compressed. it would give me more room in the closet if i put them in their sacks
