When I read this a John Denver song came to mind, the one about grandma's feather bed and all the things it would hold! ;-)

My first (and current) diy single layer is 11-12 foot, and I'm 6'1''.
Love the extra length. Super comfy and you can hang your pack at the foot end off the ground and under cover!
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives.
The gf got to try it out yesterday and decide she wanted hers to be more like mine so we cut it back to 10'. She's happy with it and that's what really matters. I didn't have my camera last night so the 12' pics will remain mythical but I hung it up inside to day and snapped a few pics.
Best I can tell its basically a diy traveler. Used knotty's video and the specs of a few manufacturers' pages to decide on the design. It's "1.9" ripstop from joanns. 10' with an adjustable lash-it ridgeline. The suspension currently on it is for my hammock so I'm trying to decide on what to do for this one. Kind of wanting to try the webbing and buckles from AHE, heard good things about that setup. If diy can be this easy I think I'm set to make some more stuff, first a stuff sack for this hammock, maybe a gear hammock and some little pillows or something.
