Does it always take this long?

Ordered a MacCat tarp (standard in sil) on 4/27. Order confirmed 4/30. Payment sent/recieved 5/3. Since then I have heard nothing and no responce from a polite email I sent about a week or so ago. Is it time to get worried?

Brian is a busy dude - he just finished with school and I believe he's moving into a new house. He's had some other spells where he fell a bit behind and was slow to get back to people, but he always gets caught up again soon. Unless there is a rush to get your tarp soon for a specific trip you have in mind, I wouldn't worry much.

I asked how long it would take to get mine and was told about 2 weeks. I ordered it and asked for a confirmation that the payment had been received and it took him 10 days to respond and he had received the payment and said the tarp should ship "in the next few days" 10 days later he shipped it. I think he makes a good product but lacks something in accurate and timely communication with his customers.

No need to worry. My tarp took about seven weeks, but Brian was in the middle of final exams, year-end details etc. IIRC he is taking a vacation in Europe probably about now so that may delay things a bit.

Considering Brian makes every tarp himself and is very attentive to detail I didn't think seven weeks was too bad. Any time I can get custom-made stuff like that in less than a year I figure it is a pretty good deal.

I'm currently in the middle of the same situation. I respect the custom manufacture, and personal/school demands, but I do expect more timely response via emails at the least.

I am in the same boat. I just placed an order for a deluxe but I think I am going to have to cancel it to get another tarp. I am thru hiking the Benton Mackaye Trail this July and need a tarp by then. Oh well.

Same (paid May 10th), but I'm not in a huge rush.
I do hope he lets us know one way or another before he heads off to Europe.
