    NX150 - first setup

Last week at my weekday job I put in my normal 50 hrs . . .

on the week end I was going to go Hiking/trekking/camping . . .

ended up putting in 25 hrs on my weekend job . . .

So, tonight I couldn't wait any longer . . . I had to go across the road to the river . . .

And Set Up My New Bed

    Found the best spot:

    The view:

    Initial set up:

I have been learning about photo ops:

    End view - - - Really ???

    View from the bedroom

I learned a couple of things, like:

    1. When setting up the fly put the fly head end at the hammock head end . . .

    2. A foam mat doesn't really work inside a hammock .

    Great views!

    Care to share the location?

I have been thinking about a new hammock.....make that ANOTHER hammock, and Clarks are on the list. Some say that it is possible to side-sleep in a Clark; others say it is not the best hammock for that.

    Any words of wisdom?

    Location ??? opps

    Robson BC, Canada
North bank of the Arrow river, a couple of miles below the Hugh Keenleyside Dam.

    Awesome fishing.

    Sleeping Side ways ???

If I lay for 30 sec on my side, I have troubles for a day,
but the Clark website says "Sleep On Your Side"
and if set a little tighter than I did, could be an option.
Others/side-sleepers with more use would be able to help more.

Personally I like the all in one purchase and setup with the Clark.
    Manufacturing quality is phenomenal.

yep, done that a few time

it's not such a big deal if you've set up early, there's still daylight and you can redo the tarp. BUT, I've had to set up in the dark when I was tired and it's a pain to realize that the tarp is turned around the wrong way. The worst time I did this, it was raining cats and dogs and there was no way I was gonna reset the tarp. So I came up with a PLAN !!! I color coded my ropes!! I bought amsteel blue (remember "blue" here is NOT a color but is the name of the rope) in silver and red. I then made whoopies and placed the sliver all at the head end and the red all at the foot end. Now I only have to shine my headlamp on my ropes to see if all the colors are the same.

Officially jealous of your across the road hang site. I cross the road to set up my hammock and the neighbors look at me funny and then set off the sprinklers!!!!!!!!

Wow, that's an amazing spot. Looks like it was fun.

I've only spent two nights in my Clark, so far, but I didn't sleep on my side, not so sure I could have. I'm going to be hanging at Scout camp for a week starting on Sunday. I'll try then.

I am blessed with my particular location.
Just about any where you go around here it is like this . . .

In many cases there are owned properties up to the water
but there are hundreds of miles of Crown Land along our waters.

This spot has an awesome flat spot for my daughters tent and the hang for me.
It is only 50 yds up river from where I taught my 6 & 8 year old daughters to light a fire this winter.
After showing them how to light a fire several times with my Fire Piston . . .
I gave them each a strike anywhere match and said 'start your own fires.
They both started a fire and tend them for an hour.

There are so many types of fish in these waters, everybody can be happy.
Our province is big into fish stocking, yearly.

The nice thing about the Clark Fly is that they have installed different ridge line eyelets,
the head end has a larger one than the foot end.
    So I hung the fly the way I intended . . .
Just forgot that I changed the head end of the NX150 for a better view while laying.

Likely due to the excitement, and all.

PS. But I do like your solution.

Thanks for that bit of info...you saved me the time of switching out my lines. (per Tinalouise) I've set mine up wrong a few times.

    Clarke

I have the 250 and when sleeping, I am a mini tornado as far as twisting goes.

I toss and turn no matter how comfortable I am and sleeping on my side is no problem at all.

After eight or so hours, I usually wake up so I don't know how it will be during a long sleep.
