Add me to the "rude" category

When I joined last year I just never thought to introduce myself......

Currently 60 years old, I started hammock hanging somewhere around 12 or 13 with an Army Surplus model my Dad had purchased and never used.

First love was canoeing (open and then in decked slalom boats) and about 10 years ago I started dabbling in touring kayaks. Now I move back and forth between C's and K's.

Backpacked in my 20s, 30s and 40s but have gotten away from that. I also have done a good bit of bicycle touring, both road and mountain bike, and now pull a BOB trailer. Been thinking about a bike tour this fall.....

Bought my first Hennessey way back when they were blue and yellow. BA (Before Asym). Gave that one to ny neice when she was traveling in Central America and bought an Asym. Several years ago I sold that one and bought a Deluxe model for more shoulder room. If I have the opportunity I choose a hammock over a tent anytime I can hang one.

I have been toying with the idea of getting another hammock, maybe a BMBH or a Clark. One can never have enough toys!

Oh, yeah - I was raised north of Pittsburgh PA, lived near Ohiopyle (Yough River) for a time, and moved to southern WV in 1981.

Jim (I am also Jsaults on Paddling.net).

Welcome out of lurkerdom! (I guess you've already come out of lurkerdom since you have 32 posts, but welcome to being openly out of lurkerdom!)

    Obscure historical/religious fact:

St.Patrick is said to have driven all of the snakes from Ireland.

St. Alban brought all of them to WV.
