    Tarp tie downs

Sorry if this posted already, I could not find it.

Where can I purchase the tarp tie downs that I would be able to sew to the tarp?

    I hope that makes sense!!

    Thanks,
    Brian

    Tie outs?
If you are making a tarp and looking for tie-outs to which you attach cordage and stakes.....I(and many others here) use gross-grain. Found at fabric stores, Walmart, and etc.
The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?
Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a sigh.

Grosgrain. Can buy it by the foot at fabric stores, or by the spool.

I've heard, from the reliables, on here that Walmart grosgrain is not the first choice. It is thought to be inferior to "real" grosgrain...
    Just passin info along.
I hope some of "them" will set us straight with that

I would not use Wal-Mart Grosgain ribbon. If ecall correctly it... it is rated as garment grade. If you want to use GG I would buy it from OWF inc or other places that sell outdoor grade material. There are many listed on this site.

I have some of the OWF GG ribbon and itis deffinately better ribbon than WM or JoAnn fabric.

The flat cord is very much like 550 cord (aka Paracord) outer layer when you remove the "guts". If you can get the real stuff, not that cheap knock off stuff, I think you could do the same thing with it that I did with the flat cord.

Will the 550 be wide enough?
I think we're lookin at 1 to 1.5 flat GG...no? so we get 1/2 to 3/4 on the flat after it's doubled over...

Sarge, You're UL so the dimensions may not match those of us in the fat world...
Tho why it would be different is beyond me at the moment.....
