The guys will do some day hikes so will look at this. Will try to see how far the women want to hike. The view of the light house and the lake look great. I'm looking forward to the trip.
Is there anything else that should be on the don't miss list?

Stop at Tom's Logging Camp on the way up from Duluth on 61 before Two Harbors. Tour the camp out back in the woods. Really interesting old tools and history. Meg and I have done it twice. Recommended.

With the temps in Morganton NC (near Linville gorge) at around 100 the last two days and sticky (humid as heck), 80s sound great, maybe the gorge rats can do some summer hanging in MN sometime. I'd go with Hawk-eye for sure. 4th of July week or the early weeks of August work best.

Last year we drove "out to the farm" twice (southwest corner of MN) driving straight through (about 24 hours on the road -Asheboro NC to Marshall MN). With enough drivers all it costs is gas. I like what we call the "southern route", it goes through Iowa rather than Chicago, a little longer, but no toll roads.

I got family in White Bear Lake and its simply beautiful up there too, as the pictures show. Thanks for them beep.

    Hey Walking Bear,
Stop in Duluth, eat at Grandma's and watch a few "Lakers"(700-1000 foot boats) go under the aerial lift bridge. An awesome site!

    Have fun, HY
