How to get a flat lay in an Eno Doublenest

I just picked up a doublenest on sale at REI while I was waiting for my HH Asym to get a mod at 2QZQ. I can't seem to get a flat lay in it. It seems to squish me in the middle and the only way to get comfortable is to flip my legs out over the sides. I've tried loosening the lines which seemed to help a little. Any suggestions?

Have you tried laying at an angle in the hammock. That is the best way to get a flat lay in that type of hammock. You will want to try about a 25 to 30 degree angle from the straight line of the hammock.

Give that a shot and see if it works for you.

Sorry I don't have any pictures ... but basically you make sure you have the thing hung at the right angle ... I find lines up from the end at about 30 degrees ... I've added a fixed ridge line to help in that ... then it's just a matter of laying at an angle left or right head at the edge but not overhanging and feet at the edge but not overhanging. You can get darn near flat ... not quite but darn near.

How to get a flat lay in an Eno DBN

    Hey,

I've added a Ridge Line to my Eno DBN. It measures about 91" from center ring to center ring. Of course you will need to adjust to your own comfort level. Hope this helps. Any question, send me a PM.

Wow, that is a LOT of sag...gotta try that!

What does the rest of your suspension look like?

The rest of my suspension is: added 1" inch straps from "Strap Works", Marlin spike toggles, and then finally, Whoopie Slings. I could have ran the Straps thru the 1" loop, but instead added 7/64" Soft Shackles that I made myself. Everything is working fine.

I thought ENO's were prone to having a lot of slack? What's your opinion, please? Thanks.

As others have said, try more sag and lay diagonal. I added a structural ridgeline to mine and I also cut of the excess material along the sides which made it 15 inches thinner. Doing these mods really made it more conforatable for me.

Slack, or sag, is determined by you, the user. That looks like more than most are using (~100" rl), that's all.

I like a lot of sag...I have a Speer hanging outside right now with an 87" ridgeline. It looks very much like your ENO, and is very comfy. I intend to try my ENO set up like you've done.

As the saying goes, hang your own hammock (HYOH).

Yah -- that's about how much sag I like in my ENO DN... and I do REALLY like my DN! I can get as flat as I need with the ridgeline.

Without the ridgeline.... I think it would be hard to get flat in any 'mock without the perfect trees??
