Rather than wait to post this 'perfectly' I decided that I'd just get something posted. So, you see my messy apartment and pictures taken with my IPhone.
I commissioned one of the machinists at work to make this for me. He still won't tell me how much I owe him. It's made form 1" conduit with fencing top rail used to make sleeves for the pipe to slip into so that no one piece is too long to fit into my Jeep crossways. I mentioned in another thread that the specs were a bit misunderstood. This thing is totally sturdy, but a bit heavier than I wanted. However, it works for car camping and setting up at home. I will need to really pad the top of the eyebolts in order to stretch a tarp over it when using it outside, which I admit I haven't done yet.
My TrekLight hammock is most comfortable strung kind of tight on this, which puts the hammock so high up that I need a step stool to get into it. I'll be testing my BB on it tonight and through the weekend since I will have company that I'll let have my usual bed. She has mentioned she may want to sleep in the hammock, though, so who knows.
