Oh, there are people around !
    I'm from Frankfurt .

Dont know if this year is possible but we wanted to do a short trip in winter. We first thought of the Bohusleden starting in Gothnburg but we'll see if that works out.

    I'm the friend

Kuchenkabel got me hangin' first time a week ago and i'm hooked now
We will usually hang around Frankfurt, but thought about a winter trip in January, maybe in the south, maybe Bohusleden, but i don't think we want to be too far out on our first winterhangin.
Heidelberg isn't that far off, so we can definitly do hang out sometime.
Here's a picture from last week:

I'd be quite happy to go on a semi-spontaneous hang around Frankfurt. I'm sure I could use work as an excuse to go there to as we're in a datacenter in Frankfurt.

I've also got a couple of German colleagues that I'm trying to convert to hammockers but it seems I'll be making hammocks for them before they'll hang... At least I'm getting them more lightweight, they've realized that the German army sleeping bag does not have an optimal weight to warmth ratio...

    Cheers,
    Logrus

Time to bring this topic back

Now that we've had alot of snow this time here in Germany, winter is slowly beginning to say goodbye. I would love to hang around sometime, how about you other folks?

I need to make an UQ to be able to make it through the night outside. I already stayed the night in the snow but that was on our balcony where I had the possibility to bug out back into warmth within seconds -- besides I've put all the warm stuff that I had available onto the hammock and that was no lightweight gear... wouldn't want to carry that load...

What about mid/end of february or beginning of march? Regarding my not yet thread-punched down UQ and some other commitments I'd prefer the latter.

As soon as we receive our gear, my boyfriend and I are interested in a hangout too. I think the beginning of march would be too soon for us, though. There is a thread on a Dutch/Belgian hangout as well: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=27960
