Now I hung out for awhile with my new whoopie sling suspension of the 8 ' hugger's with toggle and dutch clips on the WB Traveler a few questions one noticed more sway is that usual second does anyone else get more pressure on there shoulder region when using the hang just feel different to the straps. also found out lot easier for tarp to move and fall on but when taking a seat lol Ta one more ? will I need to put tree hugger's and toggle even higher to get the ridge line to loosen up thanks Jim

That post is incredibly hard to follow. How about trying some complete sentences?

If you have it rigged correctly, a sling suspension neither lays nor sways differently than a webbing one. Do you have pics of how you attached it?

Yes, if your ridgeline is very tight, the easiest remedy is to hang the supports higher on the tree.

Sorry was describing what the whoopie was hanging of of I will try again

I have the whoopie hung of the knot above toggle .

I am experiencing more sway than from straps

I notice some pressure around my shoulders now I also noticed the whoopie sling was not centered well with the hammock have corrected it since so don't know if was the root of the problem . I posted a video below mind it's length what i posted on youtube

My Treehugger hammock(Eno clone) sways with the whoopies, not with webbing. Just be more careful getting in. I don't use a ridgeline.

I can't understand why mostly everyone I have seen have the ridge line I will go back to straps before dropping the ridge line not to sound smart I think the ridge like helps too much with consistency to eliminate it IMO thanks Jim

Can't watch the video right now to see what you're attached to, but two things I can think of that might cause more sway.

    - Angle of the supports
    - Are you sure what you're tying to isn't swaying? I notice more sway when I tie to small trees.

    MedicJim,
Some of the sway you experienced may have been from the windy conditions, as the tree sways, the hammock will sway?
Centering the hammock between the trees evenly, as well as the tarp helps keep things better distributed to both trees. It looks from the video your setup is closer to one tree than the other. After a few more practice runs, centering will become second nature. But whether its straps or whoopies, I have not noticed a difference in sway.

Good luck in your quest. hyoh. If straps work better for you, then great.

Keep at it and you WILL find the SWEETEST SPOT to hang the whoopies or webbing
