I've noticed lately (and also been guilty of posting) new threads on gear manufacturer deals as they come up (i.e. my post several weeks ago of REI having ENO hammocks at 25% off). Others recently posted the Campsaver sale at 20% off.

Many of these threads end up interspersed in other forums. I was wondering if it might be worthwhile to create a new forum in the Marketplace section for Gear Deals. It would be just like the BPL forums version where whenever someone finds a manufacturer deal or some coupon code to share they can post it in there?

BPL advertises it as - Announcements of online & local sales, coupons, etc. Commercial posts... OK, but ONLY if you are announcing a sale or coupon.

There'd be no need to go back and move previous threads since many of them expire, just begin anew at a certain point. Minimal work on the moderators part, a more "clean" and organized board, and a place for the rest of us to get our fix.

I think that's a good idea. For the most part we move them into the For Sale section now.

Cool. I think BPL keeps the For Sale section for sales of private gear between members only. More of a Gear Swap. In fact, I just double checked and they do in fact call it Gear Swap.
