¾ IX UQ or Te-Wa Summer UQ

Okay okay after a good look around a UQ appears to be the G O for hammock camping over using a pad (for what I can gather the comfort is better and the weight change from a pad to a UQ is nothing.

Either of these UQ’s look great, If I do plan on using it in colder temps I’ll just add a CCF pad. (not as cold here in Australia anyway most of the year)

What’s the biggest difference between these two UQ’s. I think the Mac’s is synthetic and the Te-wa is down. Does one have a better system for attaching to the hammock ?

They both appear to have a similar rating, Anyone got any pro’s or cons for either one, Is the cover on the ¾ IX UQ just for appearance.

More importantly - What size do they pack down to ??
Is the Te-wa more compressable because it's down.

I'll be ordering a WBBB 1.0 Double as soon as the site is back online.

I have the Mac IX 3/4 UQ w/ a black outer cover (" The Baby Orca") and it fits easily into an old small lightweight Thermarest stuff sack. I checked last night and it measures 5x10", and weighs 9.9 oz with the stuff sack and 2 micro-biners. (It could compress more)

    I don't have a te-wa, but I do have a WB 3/4 Yeti. It's no larger (smaller I think but I haven't measured it), and a tad lighter.

    (sorry for the English measurements)

Well for me a big factor was cost. I have an 3/4 IX UQ without the nylon cover. I'm a warm sleeper and don't need a lot of insulation I just needed something for the summer when it dip into the low teens (degrees celsius) and it was light and less expensive than other options. I may get a down UQ and TQ later but for now I am happy with the IX. You probably can't go wrong with either. Depends on what kind of materials and what kind of weight you want. MacInyre is excellent to deal with BTW.

Yes, Canoeski said the IX UQ looked like adult diapers. After I covered it, he bought one!

I bet the Te-Wa Summer UQ and the 3/4 IX UQ would work very well together, when it gets a little colder!

Thanks for the few quick responses.
Can the 3/4 IX UQ be "Stuffed" like a down product or does it require rolling to pack better ??

Either works but I find it easier to roll first and then cram into the stuff sack.

I like to fold, roll, stuff into the sack, then compress the ends of the roll.
