    Greetings again.

I've not gotten back to daily following of posts at HF (and elsewhere) since returning from a 2 wk trip to the Boundary waters. (home concerns and work have beeb all consuming). I composed a reply post several nights ago during an intense electrical storm an I lost my internet connection just a moment before pressing "submit" I'll try again.

I'll be in Stevens Point for a 3 day conference Wed Oct 6. I plan on getting up to Sylvania late Friday afternoon. I'm imaging getting 2 sites near each other, or at least on the same lake (with the help of another member). Ther is a 6 person maxiumum at each camp site. Loon lake would be my preference since it is only one portage away from the lake with the boat landing, and is centrally located in the park. We can set up base camp there and do day trips to the other small lakes and circle back. any late comers can meet up with us as they arrive. I plan on staying through Monday and heading further up into the UP to visit a long-lost friend with whom I've recently re-connected with, and heading back Wed.

Several members on the Northern Hang expressed an interest, but we'll see as the time nears.

If need be, canoes can be rented at the Slvania Outfitters

If all goes the way it's looking right now, I expect to be there before you... is there a particular site you want us to try for? On loon lake there is... Mallard, Osprey, Loon and Eagle...

Also wanted to ask what the bear factor is up there at that time of year?

Go to www.sylvaniaoutfitters.com and check out their "big" map of the Sylvania Wilderness. It has trails and lakes / islands / campsites, etc.
Lots of possibilities. Hope to see ya'all there.

I wanted to come to this hang. This is an area that is on my to do list. However, I'm taking the wife to Branson Mo that week and cannot be in two places at the same time.
Have fun and post some good trip reports.
