I am looking to add some tie outs to my Guide Gear tarp and need about a yard of RipStop Nylon and a foot of Webbing.
Anyone out there want to unload some scraps from a DIY project?
Thanks,
Avi

When I fixed up my Gear Guide tarp, I cannibalized an old school day pack for the little webbing I needed (heck, with as little as you need, you could cut off webbing from almost anywhere and hardly notice the difference).
As for scrap ripstop, you can probably scavenge for that too -- just be creative in what you cut up.
For my tarp, I didn't add any reinforcement triangles, but instead just sewed it into the seam. I have a few other tarps and gear (like the GoLite Poncho Tarp) that does this without an issue. I guess it boils down to how you use and expect to use the gear.
You could also use grosgrain if you wanted. Pick up some 2" grosgrain for the reinforcement (I found some at WalMart for cheap -- yes, it had pokadots, but only on one side, so it worked), and 1" for the tie-out.
Good luck!
