    Smile newbie

    Hello to all,
My name is Shane A (aka) tiredhiker I live in Chelsea, Maine and started to go hiking about one month ago, my son and I just did the 100 mile section of the A.T trail from monson to mt katahdin. wow what a trip.
I bought all the good gear to make the trip more comfortable on myself, I got a great pack made by osprey, a good tent by tarp tent (the rainbow) and so on, BUT the nights were awfull on my back, So I started watching Shugs vids and some others and just bought a black bird, with a superfly tarp, and the whoopie sling and some other extras. I cant wate to get it and try it out.
I just wanted to say thanks for all the help that Shug gave me.
I hope that I can hook up with some of you and go hiking it would be great
    Again thanks.
    the tiredhiker ( Shane A)

Welcome! I'm envious... One of these days (when my boys get old enough) I'd like to do a long hike with them. I started my hammock quest in similar fashion... When conventional options seemed so heavy and bulky. You've made a good selection by all accounts. Enjoy the forums while you await the best backpacking sleep of your life.

Welcome to the forums. Tree hanging will definitely make your nights more comfortable on the trail. Once you try it you're going to like it.

You'll have to change your screen name. After hanging in a hammock for a while, you won't be a tired hiker any more.
