Molly Macpack Inspired Winter Sock.

I was thinking of a sock design ...
..."entry hole" on both sides
...flap/door is removable
...buttons/holes along the top at the head/foot ends.
...can put a bug net over it in the summer and a DWR flap over it in the winter.
...can remove the flap when it's a little warmer, and add it when the wind picks up at night.

Thoughts?

You've described the Molly Mac Gear IX Hammock Sock for the Blackbird. It has no top... it is designed to use the Bear Burrito Oven as a top. You could easily make a net version of the BBO.

Just remove the Blackbird and insert whatever hammock you want!

I meant Mac's sock...it's designed for the BBO as the top cover, but the BBO needs tie-outs IIRC.

I like how the flap door pockets do double duty by letting you use them to store stuff and eliminating the need for a ridgeline organzier or peak bag.

I'd love too. But right now the heat index is above 100F. Hardly the season for it. I'm wishing for some cool weather right now.

I'm planning a trip in the fall on the BMT maybe it will be cool enough then.
