Plans for the double wide, check for problem please.

So I got my fabric for my double and here's the basic plans. I know it's simple and hopefully making this one with be too.

14 feet long, "a 10 footer was too small so this should do"
The number 1 is going to be fleece sew onto the main body, simple straight stitch.
Actually I'm going to make it so I can slip my mat inside the layer between the fleece and main body. Leave the top edge hemmed only.
2 is Flat-Felled Seams for the sides to the main piece.
3 is all edges are hemmed.

If I want to put my pad inside two layers will I need to sew darts in my fleece fabric?

Anything I really need to think about before I start this tomorrow?
    Thanks.

You mentioned both felt and fleece. The diagram only shows the felt section. Where is the fleece going?

My only concern would be the sewing on the main body ("fleece sew onto the main body"). I think that stitching might compromise the strength of the body of the hammock. You're putting lots of little needle holes in your material, centered right around where all your weight will be...

Otherwise it looks like a great project to me.

I think NCPatrick is right. To minimize the danger of needle holes weakening the fabric, I would make the fleece the same width as the center panel so you can incorporate the edge of the fleece in your flat fell seam. Also, consider using a large zig-zag stitch to join the panels to prevent the thread from breaking. Nylon fabric stretches more than polyester thread. I would hem both ends of the fleece, and not sew across the center panel. If you find that your pad slips out the bottom end you could hand-sew it in 2 or 3 places across the bottom edge - just a couple of stitches with heavier thread should do. Good luck! I bet it's going to be comfortable.
