I have made lots of whoopie slings with amsteel but not with dyna glide. Is it the same? Are there any tricks I should know about? Just ordered 150' and plan on making several for friends and my hammock collections.

In my experience it's pretty much the same, just smaller in diameter.

and the smaller diameter means your buries can safely be proportionally shorter.

The tools you use will be smaller as well. And a little more stubborn to do. For me, loosening the weave prior to trying to bury the ends works best. Walk the line back and forth a few times (where the bury will happen), allows the braid to swell easier and helps the bury process.
Good glasses help, too.
But its all pretty much the same technique, just on a smaller scale.

Loop turners work well. In some ways dynaglide is easier than amsteel because the coating keeps the strands together so you're less likely to snag a fiber out of another strand. I'm pretty sure you're right, now that I think about it, but I wonder why that's so.
Dave, I believe bury length is defined as "x" fid diameters. Since we're not using fids, I've often wondered what that translates to.
Second thoughts: maybe that's fid lengths. Or maybe not...confusion is my zipcode.

A "fid" is 21 diameters, whatever the size rope you're working with.

Not sure if it was just the batch I purchased, but I found the green to be easier to work with than the orange. Orange requires a bit of "loosening" before burying. Previous orange DynaGlide was looser. Orange seem to be more impregnated with whatever NE uses. I use the same size smaller yarn needle for Amsteel 1/8", 7/64" and the DynaGlide.
Wondering if splicing fids for Dynaglide and 7/64" Amsteel exist?

koaloha, you are correct on your assessment of the orange vs. the green. I've got a bunch of the orange that the coating has turned to goo. Have more on order and will see what it is like. I use a 24" piece .024" stainless wire folded in half and the folded end carefully squeezed down with pliers. You have to find that magic spot between squeezing tight enough to hold the tag end and loose enough to tunnel through the dynaglide smoothly. Sometimes I'll push the dynaglide just in front of the wire loop to open it up and make things glide a little smoother.
