I plan to, Hangin' Burrito. I was holding out on buying a new camera, waiting on the Canon S90 to be updated with HD video, but I might have to get something sooner. I have an OLD Canon Powershot, but the video is pretty bad. My DSLR doesn't do video, and my 4x5 view camera is made of wood and doesn't even use batteries.

There should be some great pics up along Rock Jock. I think it'll be a good time to snap a new avatar pic, though with the one I have now, at least I can think cool thoughts.

Burrito, do you have a website of your cabinet work?

Ken, the last time I used Masonite was building a bed for a model railroad. When we moved, I didn't rebuild it. That's another project for another day...maybe when I'm 60.

Hey Salty ..... The RJ is a wonderful trail for views. Hickery and I camped up there in a storm right before you get to Razor. You will see two small rock cairns if you walk from Conely. After you go up the rocky creek bed with the tree on it be looking. You could hang 3 there I suppose.
Say hey to the old dead hemlock at Hackers Point!

I saw the video of you and Hickery in the storm. I'd have been saying "Mamma", too. I didn't realize that was on Rock Jock. We'll be camping down at the river, though, unless we're really slow. We'll definitely say hey to the hemlock. I sure hate we're losing them.

Has anyone ever been to the cave just out from the Conley trailhead parking area? I saw it in the master file Ken has on his site. It looks like a very short hike.

BTW, Shug, I'm really sad to hear you won't be making the gorge trip this time. I was looking forward to meeting you and discussing the finer things of Gaston County.

Yeah ... it's a beauty ... short hop ... check it out. There's another smaller one ... might not be listed but just on the trail (left side going down) called "The Cowboy Hotel" by Tim and Mac I believe ... nice one to check out as well. Keep an eye out for it.

Salty, the Conley Cave is pretty easy to find. Going down the trail, when you first come to boulders and rock on your right there will be a switchback. Just below that switchback, look for a faint path leaving the trail and heading off below those boulders. The big cave is around there a few hundred feet. Check out the sleeping arrangements up in the back corner!

Also, just on down Conley a few hundred feet the trail gets wet and rocky. The Cowboy Hotel is up on your left there. It's a long overhang with water running through the back. They are both interesting to visit. Mac wants to hang in the Cowboy Hotel.
