Single Line Tarp Ridge Line

Hello Forum...new to the game here...got one of Opie's Single Line Tarp Ridge Line systems ( http://shop.whoopieslings.com/Single...-Line-TRL1.htm )...and was wondering if the tarp goes over or under the ridge line...seems you could do either...just wondering what the advantages and disadvantages are of each option.

Up to you ... I prefer over ... but a lot like under ... over for me due to water seeping down the ridge line but there are ways to over come that. Some like under to use as a hang line ... or to support the tarp.

Can't go wrong with either.

It is up to you and your preference. Under offers the ability to use the ridgeline as a clothesline, great for drying clothes. Also the ridgeline then shares the load of the tarp over a larger area. Downside, possible that rain water will travel down the line into the interior of the tarp. And some wear on the fabric.
Over works good, too. just no risk of possible leaks or interior clothesline.

Both options work well for tarp deployment.
I like under, and have not notice any wear problems. ymmv.

I've just used it over the tarp... common issue I've found is that my previous single ridgeline (DIY) stretched over time and the middle of the tarp sagged a bit.

Got Opie's ridgeline but haven't given it proper field usage. I'm thinking of going under the tarp from now on though unless in rainy conditions.

and tighten with prusiks on each end, i assume???...haven't really played with tarp line...have only had time to play with hammock a little.

My favorite rig has a Nite Ize Knot Bone on one end ... I usually fasten that to the first tree ... then wrap the line around the second tree and secure to a Nite Ize figure Nine on a prussik. That gives me a secure line ... my tarp in DIY mesh skins is attached to the line via two prussiks that have one Nite Ize Small S-biner on each side of the ridge line of the tarp. Simple and easy to quickly deploy. Slide the skins back and stake out the tarp as needed.

Another benefit to this rig is ... by adjusting the prussiks holding the tarp ... I can move it along the ridgeline to the spot I need it the best. Another benefit is with the OGEE tarp ... I can unclip and adjust the tarp to another configuration without taking down the ridge line!

... and it makes a dandy tarp tensioner with a loop of 1/8th inch bungee

That is the neat setup I use now, Thanks Hawk-eye. Now to figure out how to make the OGEE
