Geez, it's like following a ton of different rabbit holes that all have info. Thanks guys! It's been awhile since I've been on here so it's kind of neat to see a lot of new stuff out.
Is there a commercial provider for the shock cords on the guy outs? I currently use trip tease but hate having to adjust the rain fly. These sound pretty great.

I have a diamond tarp and use figure 9 biners on all four points. They are slick. I have small biners on the ends of my ridge line ties that go around the tree, clip over the rope and free end goes to 9 on the ridge and pull and done. A bowline on the end of the side tie outs over the stake, free end to the nines, pull tight and done.
I have used a continuous ridge line with prussiks as well, not sure I am sold on that option, but continue to experiment. There are lots of options. I also use a mesh python wrap.

I use snakeskins and have tautline hitches permanently tied on the tarp side of the ridgeline. That way all I have to do is wrap the line around the tree a couple times for a friction wrap, and adjust the tautline hitches to tighten it up. It's pretty fast, and requires very little thought on my part. No knots to undo in the morning too.

it is entirely possible I missed seeing this earlier, but does any body use a diamond tarp with a cat-cut ridgeline?
Back on topic;I would think that
clip ridgeline to 1st tree
deploy tarp(and/or) snakeskins as walk to 2nd tree
tighten with fig nine
push skins back
place two stakes
would be about as minimal as you could get...
Here's what I do...
1. I have a tarp ridgeline I bought from Opie. This stays permanently attached to my tarp with S-biners. I use the ridgeline above the tarp as I pitch it. It's made of Lash It.
2. The tarp is "furled" or rolled up with the tarp guy lines rolled into the tarp. The furling is secured with three evenly spaced velcro cable ties I got at the local Ace Hardware store. These ties are "permanently" looped onto the Opie Ridgeline.
3. I connect the ridgeline to the trees (toggle and loop at one end; Figure 9 on a prusik at the other end) and pull it tight.
4. When ready to deploy the tarp, I release the three cable ties and stake out the tarp sides.
5. Packing up is the reverse process with the ridgeline "ends" wrapped around the furled and folded tarp and the whole shebang put into a stuff stack. The stuff sack also holds the stakes and some extra cord for "whatever" uses.
