    Indoor Hammock Tips from Brazil

Checkout the basic but good advice on using a hammock indoors from this Brazilian guy. Note the use of pad eyes and how the hammock can be stowed. I really like the hammock he's using...big and wide.

Great info -- I like how he folds it up and stows it away. Now, where can you find such a hammock? What is the recommendation for this type of indoor (cotton?) hammock? I think this is just the ticket for my indoor setup.

I'm replying while lying in one of those made in Mexico (from Mayans.com), and it's very comfortable. They're similar in how you use them to what he showed in the video.

This looks like a Brazilian hammock with a thick cloth bed. Mayans are typically woven string hammocks. Both styles are awesome in their own right.

I usually just hung both hanging loops from one wall and that got it out of the way pretty quickly. I do like the look of it all wrapped up like that though. Thanks for bringing this to our attention Knotty.

People mention ENO Slap Straps stretching--the stretch on a cotton hammock with cotton ropes must be fierce!

The difference, I think, is that nylon has memory and cotton does not. Once the cotton is stretched, it's stretched. Where as the nylon stretches, then returns to its original. That means it's going to stretch again when you reload it. You can almost see my body shape in my cotton Brazilian hammock that I've been sleeping in nightly for about 2 years now. Light has to be just right, but there is a permanent 'dent' in my hammock.

Cannibal - Where did you get your hammock from? Do you remember the make or model?

I don't recall the details, but I can probably find the same hammock if I spend some time looking.
