    So, based on the chart, if you don't find the optimal tree spacing, then hang a little below 6' on the tree if that spacing is shorter than 15', and try to hang higher than 6' on the tree if the spacing is greater than 15' - would that be correct?

    You got it, that would be correct!! Then if you go too far apart you need to use your trekking pole or a branch or something to push the hugger up higher than you can reach!
