    wife grrrrrr

Well I set up my new Claytor Jungle in the backyard this weekend so I could sleep overnight and try it out. I had rain in the forecast so I was hoping to try out the diamond fly as well.

Once I get it all set up my wife decides she wants to try it out and takes over my hammock for the night. So she seized my experiment and I'll have to try another night. cursing:

She actually had never slept in a hammock and slept good enough she wants one now. She has always been a ground sleeper and prefers tents.

She left feedback so I guess that's a good thing.

    1. The sleeping pad was not needed and made it a little to hot for her, it was 72 for the low.

    2. She had a wool blanket but did not use it and left it at the foot end.

    3. She slept on her side and the only thing that woke her up a couple times was the A/C kicking on and off by the house. She even slept in to 830

    4. mosquitos were out and the bug net worked great.

    5. The rain fly kept the dew off of her.

So not a total loss if it gets her into a hammock I'll just have to buy her one

There is a positive to this. My wife took a liking to the hammock, and so it was far easier justifying all of those little purchases like pads and underquilts. I think our marriage is stronger because of the hammocks!

Congrats on the Claytor JH! I have one myself and love it! Once you get permission to sleep in yours, I have no doubt that you'll find it comfortable!

Anyway, I think it's great that your wife is willing to try out a hammock... my wife just rolls her eyes and change the subject, whenever I bring up outdoor/hammock things

Good first hang report.....from your wife
I didn't know that a person could sleep on their side in a Claytor. I'm 5'2", how tall is your wife?

When I gave my wife her hammock, she got in and after a couple of minutes said "this is soft" and fell asleep. When she woke up she asked if she could take it on our next camping trip. Love it when a plan comes togeather....
