Hope you get your hang - it's a cool way to meet new like-minded people... just checked on the HF Google map and there's only you and Dingus Khan. But an advanced search in the Members List reveals that there's a couple of fellow Newfoundlanders that you might have overlooked:

    DaNewf
rocrunr - he/she hasn't been active in a while, but a PM might trigger a response.

Looking forward to a trip report from you guys!

btw.. are the Newfoundland dogs still common up there? I have one myself and read that they were bred for use in the Newfoundland fishing industry, pulling nets etc.. I know that things might have changed since then in regards to technology , but is the breed a common race as a pet?

The Newfoundland dogs are plentiful as pets. They are beautiful. Not used for fishing any more but were known to have rescued people from shipwrecks on ocassion.

Thanks for the names for me to check on for a possible Newfoundland hang.
    Take care,
    Bluefin

we were stuck in the hammocks for the night.
Could have been worse. You could have been stuck in a tent with 4 inches of rain coming.
Sounds like you made the best of it. I really like to see reports with pics from other parts of the world.
    Thanks for sharing.

I would love to join you guys, but unfortunately I've used up all my vacation. The location looks really good, so I do hope you plan more hangs after this one.

No problem, I hope you manage to gather a few fellow hangers.

And I agree, the Newfoundland dogs are beautyful , and also very gentle. I have heard about the rescue stories before - impressive that a dog is able to do that.
