    Back at you

    Thanks all for the greetings!

Angry Sparrow - thanks for the UL threads. A great place for me to start.

To my fellow Michiganders - greetings! I hope we get to meet in the future. I'm in Grand Rapids.

Gargoyle - cool gear. I'm about 20 miles down the road from you.

Shug - I chose Canned Heat as a name because I was a huge fan "back in the day". Was just listening to them on Pandora when I had to come up with a name. Now about your videos, all I can say is "whoooo". I had to go for a hard bike ride to burn off the excess energy after watching. You oughta be in movies friend. Seriously, very very helpful for a newbie. A picture's worth a thousand words.

I have a week long trip coming up in September that I hope is one of my last on the ground. So much info here on HF, a little mind boggling, but I know by next spring I will have it sorted out enough to make the purchase that suit my style of backpacking.

Welcome from another Michiganian. I am south of K-zoo near the Indiana border. We have had some local hangs, would be a good opportunity for you to have a "see and say" session with gear. I am not a UL type as I paddle but being outdoors is something we all have in common. This place is a great resource. Read away!!!!!

Welcome to the forums! Sounds like you had less than a great intro to hammock hanging. Spending some time here wil you get you straightened out and pointed in the right direction.

Welcome aboard. This is a great community, and very helpful.
Hopefully we'll have another hang this fall, and you can come out and play.
    Good luck,

Looks like there is a "fall hang" brewing in the mitten:

Michigan can be very fun. See you all out on the trail.
