Looks awesome - makes me miss my Smokies trip! Your trout lunch made me hungry! My pack was too stuffed to fit my fishing gear in there, but a couple times I wished I had it.

Well that looks just GREAT! I'm going to have to take my 2 Grandsons on that exact trip, Lord willing!

So how did you get past the hornets?

    Short video

Here's a short video from my hammock during the trip. It's nice to wake up in a hammock!

Think "tenkara". Mine whole fly-fishing kits weighs under 8 ounces.

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

I have an endless supply, but I'm really not a grits man. Don't tell my dad.

I'm ready to go back, I really miss the smokies!

    Update on campsites

    Peg-Leg,
I am looking at doing an overnight in that same area Thanksgiving weekend with my brother and son. We are considering campsites 57 or 58. Can you tell me if you recall spotting any good hanging spots when you hiked by those? Hoping for some good views in the fall....
