    Cordage

Ok I have looked at zing it 2.2 mm $26 180 ' and lash it Grey 1.75 mm $43 180' is there anything else out there comparable without the hefty price tag . I have 100" of OD Para cord I was planning on using for my continuous ridge line and guide lines on my recent purchase WB superfly but I see people curse para cord here so the dilemma begins is the zing and lash it overkill and over priced just curious Oh I should add I want to stay stealth no bright colors

For what you want to use it for I would stay away from paracord. I use zing it so others that have more experience with alternatives will have to chime in since you want to stay stealthy.

How about 100 lb test spectra fishing line? I ordered some on ebay (hasn't arrived yet - coming from Hong Kong). 300 M. for $14 shipped. That's less than 1/10th the cost of the Zing-it you mentioned. It should be plenty strong for a tarp. You can see it here.

Hmmm? I'd be concerned about it being too thin and cutting into the material or line it's tied off to.

Regarding paracord, IMHO it's probably suitable for a structural ridgeline. May have some stretch, but that's not so critical in a ridgeline like it is with suspension.

You can just use normal accessory cord for tarp lines. Go to any outdoor store and you can get some kinds for much cheaper than the premium stuff we order here. Just make sure it's not nylon.

Boy, a double whammy. Not sure how to take that, but you're welcome. Note Knotty's reservations, though.

Yes, connections need to be considered carefully. So far I haven't had trouble with similar spectra line (130 lb. test) cutting fabric or cutting itself, but I splice it. There are spliced loops that are lark's-headed (is that a verb?) onto my hammock, but the loops are sleeved in dacron so the spectra doesn't cut itself. Otherwise I don't use knots. For heavier lines, such as dynaglide, I like Penberthies at the tarp tieout points, but with this thinner line I plan to use whoopies if UCRs don't work in place of the Penberthies (dubious). This will be for an ultralight cuben tarp with only two stakes, so I figured I'd keep the entire suspension weight as low as possible.

Redden Marine has Lash It (grey) for $25.67. (180' spool). Use the discount code "Hammockforum".

Just got mine. I can't wait to make all kinds of stuff with it, including whoopie slings for my WBBB.

That stuff is suitable for Whoopie slings? I thought 7/64th was the minimum.
