I think the 12x12 would be a little large for me. I debated for a while before buying the tarp and I figured that the 9x9 would allow for more choices in sites to setup. Sometimes it's even a little hard to find a spot for my 9x9 when I do backcountry camping and I am out in the bush with lots of plant ground cover.

I've been using a 8x10 silnylon from Campmor. When staked out with 2 on each side, there is some sag in the middle so I use my poles to raise the edge and get better views and breeze.

That's a great way to increase your views while removing the sag from the tarp. Here's a pic of T-BACK's tarp in Hot Springs last weekend.

One side of the tarp is flopped over this side, but you can see how the pole is supporting the center of the long side.

Got my "NEO" 9X9 tarp today. This thing is killer. Neo deserves royalty checks from SG.
The little plastic sliders on the guidlines are cool. Will let me place my stakes at any length without tying a knot.

Hey ShakeyLeggs, did you ever try the 2-stake configuration w/the MacCat deluxe tarp? I didn't pay attention in Hot Springs and don't quite understand what I'm seeing in the pic.

If you do it, please take lots of pics up close so I can try it too. thank!

Yeah I'd like to see that too - I sat and tried to figure out how that would work, but everything I came up with seemed like it would introduce a lot of sag. Doesn't seem like a good thing, since the cat tarps are designed specifically to get RID of sag....

I gave it a quick go on my trip last month with no success. But then again I was just testing my set-up. The single stake configuration induced allot of sag in the middle of the tarp. I am planning on trying to work thru this and come up with a workable solution. I will keep everyone up to speed on how it works out.
