    Anyways, when you pull the end through the loop you formed and tighten the truckers hitch, you pinch it as he shows in the video (because of the mechanical advantage, it's relatively easy to hold tight pinched between finger and thumb). Then do a slippery half-hitch. If you're at all concerned about the slippery half-hitch coming apart, do another one!

    Suggest you look at a few other videos and online descriptions of the truckers hitch... my little method is just what works best *for me*, based on the various knots I've seen.
