Exclamation Check yourself before you wreck yourself

This is a posting to remind us that we need to be very careful. The need for care is even higher for all of us Colorado Hangers. Stupid beetles!

I am very hopeful this wasn't somebody from HF, or one of my denizens that has learned hammocks in my backyard. I really hope it's not. Anyway, men tie to dead tree, tree fall, man hurt bad. All the other details can be found here. We were up there this weekend and heard the news this morning. Hope dude is OK.

That's part of the problem with the beetle kills; they don't always 'look' dead. Not saying that's what happened here, but I have personally pushed over trees that looked healthy. I've gotten into the habit of pushing on all the trees anywhere near my camp out here. Kind of a bummer to hear that a hanger fell victim; we're supposed to know better.

What a bummer. I dont think it was fair to say the hammock configuration caused the tree to fall. Um more like it was dead and looking for an excuse to fall. Be careful my brothers and sisters.

From the article: "approximately 90,000 trees a day fall in Colorado"

That's hard to wrap your head around. Be careful out there.
