I too get all wound up when I hear about something like this. I'm sorry to see someones gear stolen (as in that other thread) of vandalized as in this thread.
Since the community has already addressed the hammock problem (both repairing and replacing), I think it's time to focus on the security issue.
Does anyone have a spare webcam or "game camera" to loan the OP for a bit? I think those would be the best solutions right now.

I don't own a game camera, maybe someone else can chime in. But I would sure be willing to travel to Doc's and lay in wait in the tree tops with a big stick.......not that I condone violence.
