    Suspension Question

    Hey Guys

I am new to hanging, and I have a quick question. When hanging my hammock I've heard loads of different things about what tension i should have on my hammock. So a little background about me, i prefer to sleep on my side and want my hammock to allow me to do this.

So my question is do I have my hammock tension TIGHT or LOOSE

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

If, by tension, you mean sag, then you want to hang your hammock loose. Each support should hang at about a 30 degree angle from the tree to which it is attached.

What works for one does not work for all. I'm a side sleeper in bed too but found that I can/will sleep all night on my back in my hammock and love it. The best part of hammocking is all the time testing and tweeking things to find out whats right for you.

I generally use the 30° from horizontal rule (guideline).

It's a little different but I find hammocks to actually be better for side sleeping than beds.
