    Hey Jerry,

I think the spirits...if there are any....on top of Browning Hill have been at this game alot longer than you have been a spook chaser!

But good luck anyway in your endeavors, be sure to post anything of interest.

I don't think you are going to get anybody to take you up on your offer to go along with you, besides if there is more than one of you guys, you might not get the spirits to react.

When you get to the top of the hill and look around, the wooded area on one side of the trail is where all of the concerned hangers hung (there were packed in there pretty tight, all clustered together for some reason ) , and the clearing nearest the rock formation on the other side of the trail is where those of us that wanted to take a ride in the mother ship in case the aliens came to visit that night. And way out on the edge of the Alien Spaceship landing zone is where our man ClintsTime hung his hammock, and slept like a baby...so he said.

The whole area in the clearing is what we referred to as 'Spook Town". Spook Town was the place to be in my book, and the view of the stars was simply amazing.

BTW-Please remember that "clearing" is a relative word at this place....like I said before "You just have to experience this place for yourself". But, it sure is a great place to sit in the woods. Be sure to carefully look in the sistern that is on top of the hill, but make sure not to drop the big rock lid into the hole buddy.

    All secure in section 8,
    Barefoot Child

Hey Jerry, I'd like to but it is not in the cards for me this weekend.

When I went with Mule and CamperDave a while back, I just followed Mule. We started at the northern trailhead of the Nebo Ridge Trail...but I haven't been able to tell whether that trail goes through Browning Hill or not. How do you find it if indeed one leaves the Nebo Ridge Trail ?

(I know, you just follow the spirits....)

    thanks

It is in southern Indiana in the Hoosier National Forest. It is outside a little town called Story and looks down on to the ghost town of Elkinsville.

You could be right barefoot Child....I think the spirits ( if any ) have been doing it alot longer......me? I have always been fasinated by that spook stuff....but I am one of those "logical" people....gotta find out if it is true or not....
I did do a little research on the hill ....seems a family that lives on that road has "seen" lights up there...and no one seems to know where they come from....

Aliens.....hmmm that explains the bump on the back of my neck....

GrizzlyAdams....if you drive opposite of the Nebo ridge trail, ( story area ) it is only .6 of a mile to the hill... I usually park at the salt creek bridge just off of Elkinsville road. easy to find...( and I have gps )

Ahhhh well I'm gonna be there if anyone wants to join up.....Steaks on the grill Friday night.....

I would love to join you, but I can't this weekend. I will be going next month, so I'd be interested in how your trip goes.

Ah, I see. You go for the "frontal assault" mode of charging up the hill.

I hope to get there later in the fall, but I'll be hiking for the fun of it. I found GPS coordinates, so with a little GPS futzing I ought to be able to know when I'm "close" while on the Nebo Ridge Trail.

I would like to go. What are your plans? I could meet you in the parking lot or the hill or Brown hollow. Mule

Well there you go Jerry...Da man himself (Mule) is willing to make the trip to the top of Browning Hill with you, I would definetely take him up on that offer for sure!

BTW-Keep in mind that Mule just may be one of the High Priests that is just looking for a sacrificial lamb. When we hung out at the hill earlier this year he did tell a joke that indicated that he was not to be messed with. And the other High Priest might be a guy named DPlant, GramMan, or just plain Dave. He knows the route also, and even left in the middle of the night this last spring.
