    Howdy from Texas

Hey Guys, this is a cool board!

I don't have a camping hammock, yet, deciding between making my own or just laying out the cash to get one.

I'm from Texas, and I am into hunting, fishing, camping, just about anything outdoors. I am looking for something a little more comfortable than the hard ground to sleep on!

Welcome to HF. Hanging is the only way to go. Whether you choose to get started with a DIY hammock or buy one. The end result will be the same you will never want to go to the ground again.

    For now
(don't try this at home, it should only be done by a trained professional)
just grab an old square Rip-stop-nylon, tent fly and tie each end and try a hang.

Then you will NEED a hammock for sure.

That was my first, but many years ago.

Welcome. I always like those who give their location as simply "Texas" to consider the feelings of those of us who are from Texas, and be more specific. It is a big place. The original native meaning of Texas is "friendly" --- join us for the Texas Fall Hang, info on the forum.
