    Smile hello y'all

Hi, I'm pretty new to hammocking, although I've been mocking most of my life. I like to camp as my handle would indicate and have been trending toward ultra-lite backpacking as I'm sure many of you do. I really appreciate the simplicity of the Enos I use and find it quite comfortable into the teens in winter, as a bonus, I don't have to sleep on snow and can admire the coyote tracks under me in the morning; I really dig that!

I'm looking forward to reading some of your discussions and strategies on tarping hammocks, especially winter tactics. I live in Virginia Beach and probably camp in Va more than anywhere but I have camped in many different places throughout the US. I will be hammocking this weekend in GWNF, hopefully beneath clear, starfilled skies, as is my preference.
Well, that's my brief intro, I'm posting from my phone so I can't go on forever..I'll just add that I really admire Shug, on and off the unicycle..

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

I OD'ed on HF one time. my wife and family had an "Intervention" for me. Needless to say, it didn't work. Those are 12 long, hard steps back to th ground that I don't want to take.

Thanks folks, I'm anxious to learn more. I have two very simple hammocks now. You know, I'm not one looking for a hammock to be 'flat', I kinda like my feet up after a long day of hiking. I do pull it real tight. I'm looking for three things in a hammock.
    1. Dry
    2. Light
    3. Durable

Hey Shug, how's a guy from MN learn to love grits and NC barbecue? I thought barbecue was a verb up there!
