Smile Who Else Has Old Buddies Now Hangin' Out On HF??

I been hanging for a while and got my dear old friends from JR. High and High School(Class of 1976) .... Hickery and The Turk into the hammock life.
We started camping together in 1970 and continued through backyard overnights, Scout Trips and then in College we all continued on.
I would come home from the circus and we would all go backpacking to catch up with each other.
Hickery is so into hammocks he joined the forum here.
The Turk goes in a hammock when we all go together.

Shug, Hunt, Hickery and The Turk circa 1978 Black Mountain, NC.

Me on a trip at Bear mountain in NC .... Hickery always took pix. You can see we still tarped back then. also strapped that cooler on our old BSA Yucca Packs... libations wre a must in the '70s.

Is that Shug on the left in Flannel, holding the light? I like the round-cornered photos. Who are these gents and where are they now?

Yep me holding the full size Coleman lantern. In those days we would strap a lantern and a full stove on our packs and hike in miles and miles. We knew no better. We were strong.
The guy next to me is robert Hunt. Taught me to ride a unicycle...married a gal from finland. Is a Fire Captain. Still see him
Next is Hickery ....he is on here.......
The Turk. A very tight friend.... right in there with Hickery.
Hickery and The Turk were in my wedding .... say no mo'.
I made them tarps and hammocks as gifts a couple of years ago to fire up their backpacking ....... it took!!!!!!

Hey, didn’t I see one of those rogues on a post office wallboard offering a reward for capture?

Shug, I read a report in USA Today that some researchers looked back at high school photos and could tell based on one criteria if the person, years later, was happy, had successful marriage, good family life, and a generally robust lifestyle. Know what the criteria is? A smile. They actually gauged the size of smile (teeth showing or not, that sort of thing) in high school photos, esp yearbook, and correlated it well with the above findings.

You always have a smile, even back in the day. In fact, the only photo I’ve ever seen you without a smile—a serious look—is the one of you and your two buddies with trekking poles –the last photo you posted. Hell, they're smiling, and you look like you just drank anti-freeze.

Why am I telling you all this? Shug, if your buddies make you so damned miserable, ditch ‘em. Old friends, shmold friends—history means nothing if they’re gonna get under your skin that much. Sheesh.
